Mimi Millen, MS, MS, LPC, is a counselor at the Mental Health Center of Dane County and is also in private practice. She works with her clients using Psychosynthesis principles. She holds the truth of the Self with clients, talks with them about it as seems timely, helps them learn to center in this personal self, the center of consciousness and will. She helps them have compassion for themselves and all their parts/subpersonalities. She encourages them in learning to have greater choice from their center versus being reactive in their lives. She sees their wholeness and hopes to guide them in this awareness and understanding for themselves. Mimi is certified in Energy Yoga. In addition to counseling and psychotherapy, she teaches Energy Yoga classes as well. She finds that it helps people open, unblock, and reconnect to their own energy and body to achieve better health and experience feelings of joy and peace. As clients meditate and tune into the energy they can bridge into the transpersonal. Mimi has been an educator for over 20 years. She has applied her knowledge as a camp counselor and director for over 20 years. She taught adults about alcohol and drug abuse and family issues for 5 years. She has one master's degree in adult education and women's studies, and a second master's degree in mental health counseling. She has studied Psychosynthesis for 3 years and practiced it for 8 years. She has also studied a number of spiritual belief systems over the last 10 years and currently teaches Dahn yoga. Mimi hopes to offer workshops integrating Psychosynthesis and Energy Yoga in the future. She says, “I am very lucky to have lived so fully and richly and love to share the wisdom of these discoveries with others, for health, joy and peace in the world. And, as always, I look forward to 'what wants to emerge,' As our dear Hedi would say.”
